An ambitious Indian insurtech startup had set out to solve one of personal finance’s most persistent problems: the fragmentation and opacity of insurance policy management. With millions of Indian consumers holding multiple insurance policies across health, life, motor, and home — each with its own documentation requirements, renewal timelines, and claims process — the opportunity to create a unified, intelligent insurance management platform was significant. But building a product that consumers would genuinely adopt required solving the design challenge of making complex insurance simple and accessible for everyday Indian users.
The insurtech platform was experiencing the gap that many digital insurance products face in India: technically capable of delivering genuine value, but failing to convert user interest into sustained engagement because the experience did not meet the accessibility and usability standards that modern consumers expected. Complex insurance terminology, fragmented policy management workflows, and a renewal and claims experience feeling as opaque as the industry it was trying to modernise were all suppressing adoption across the Indian market.
Worxwide conducted stakeholder interviews, user research, and card sorting exercises to rebuild the platform’s information architecture from the ground up. A mobile-first insurance vault was designed with simplified policy information presentation, centralised document management, and intuitive user journeys making policy management accessible to Indian users without specialist insurance knowledge. Interactive renewal reminders, health check-up alerts, and AI-powered personalised insurance recommendations were introduced to drive ongoing engagement and improve insurance utilisation across India.
The simplified, accessible experience drove a 65% improvement in sign-up conversion — demonstrating that the previous design had been a significant barrier to user acquisition, and that experience quality was the primary determinant of growth for an insurtech platform in India’s nascent digital insurance market.
Post-launch usability assessment confirmed significant improvement across standard usability metrics — with Indian users rating the redesigned platform substantially easier and more enjoyable to use than its predecessor, and reporting higher confidence in their ability to manage their insurance independently.
The combination of proactive reminders, simplified claims guidance, and personalised recommendations drove measurable improvement in insurance utilisation rates among active platform users — delivering on the platform’s core value proposition of helping Indian consumers get more value from their insurance coverage.
